Week #9 Assignment #1

This was a very interesting article. I was very surprised by the results of this study. Before reading this article I assumed that bogging would absolutely have an effect on the students reading, I was surprised to see that it does have a positive effect on reading improvement. Although, I did learn some other benefits that blogging offers that are important too. It is great for their to be a good rapport in a classroom, students should interact often and share their thought and opinions. This is something that blogging encourages. Blogging forces students to interact with each other. It is even better when they have requirements for commenting then they gain even more. It is also super helpful for teachers. They can comment with all the students and monitor their work. Even though, it may not change reading levels, blogging should still be implemented for the other great advantages it offers.

  2. I also asumed that would be the case! However, as the researchers wrote, the instructors were not adequately prepared or enthusiastic about integrating the use of blogs in their curriculum. I believe that this factor definitely impacted the implementation, and that more thorough preparation would have yielded different result.
