Week #2 Assignment #2
For many years every state had its own standards. Experts realized that this was not a good method. Each state had its own plethora of standards for the students and many were not meeting the goals. Additionally, if an individual would move states in the midst of his education he may be behind or ahead if the other state due to the different educational standards and expectations. For these reasons the common core standards were created. one set of standards for all states. There are four categories within the CCS; reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language. Each section has specific standards. The point of these standards is to help teachers focus on the learning goals; what students should achieve by the end of the year. When preparing their work they have standards to guide them. These standards enable students to be successful in their futures. These standards will save our country!
