Week #12 Assignment #1

The world is beginning to rely more and more on media and technology. This is also true in classrooms. Teachers are using technology for the lesson prep and implementation. The internet is great and has a vast amount of tools to offer. Many tools are familiar and frequently used but some are new and upcoming, All of them have the same goal of making learning more effective and easier for teachers and students. Some programs work better than others. There are advantages and disadvantages to them all. Some are more expensive and not as worthwhile but many are free too. It is important to always remember when implementing technology that it is the means to the goals and does not become the main focus.

Glogster was a new tool to me, I am amazed by this tool. Glogster allows students to present their work in a creative, organized, and informational way. This tool promotes social interaction, students view and comment on each others work. Students can use media from the internet to present their work. It specifically allows students to use their creativity when posting their work. Teachers can form a group for the class and they can all interact. There are many options on this program, it can be useful in any type of classroom. It can be especially useful for struggling students. It is an easy to use-easy to navigate website. It is a great way to encourage students who need the extra push. ELL students can use this to help them learn the new language. They can use resources from the interest to help them and link them to their poster. Glogster is really perfect for all students, in all subjects, at every age. I would definitely implement this into my classroom.
