This article discusses the change in education focusing on the implementation of multimodlities. Multimodality is the incorporation of various approaches to learning. For example when reading a book instead of focusing only on the text the teacher focuses on graphics and images as well. Multimodality bring a variety of learning methods into the classroom; drama, drawing, talking, writing etc. Using multi modality create new roles for both the teacher and students. Teachers need to know how to incorporate a variety on modalities into their literacy lessons. This is all part of the new literacies, that’s transforming our curriculum. Using this approach will enhance the learning of our students, this is the best way for students to learn.

Second life is an online platform that can be very beneficial in the classroom. Second life is an online virtual world. It gives you a chance to connect and chat with people around the world. Classes can go on field trips via this platform. Trips that are impractical, too far, or unavailable can be accomplished with second life. There are three main uses for this in the classroom; students can connect with subjects related work, students can connect with the teacher, students can connect with each other. There are many special special features, many activities can take place that enhance the learning. It is important that both the teacher and the students are familiar with this learning tool. Firstly, teachers should be fluent with it, and then ensure the same with their students. If teachers follow the ADDIE framework then using this platform will be a success. Each component; analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation is vital for positive use of second life. Teachers must know students prior knowledge, design activities and lessons accordingly, implement appropriate activities, and most importantly evaluate their progress.
